Edward Ringrose was Dean of the new Faculty of Education from 1949 and Director of External Studies from 1950, at the University of Queensland.

Impact On Brisbane Society

Edward Ringrose continued the educational psychology work of William Marquis Kyle and Michael Scott Fletcher at the University of Queensland. Furthermore, Ringrose served as a part-time senior psychologist (1943-1945) in the Department of Labour and National Service. Ringrose was also President of the State Secondary School Teachers’ Association (1932-1933 and 1935-1936) and of the Queensland Teachers’ Union (1936-1937). He was also chairman of the State branch of the National Association for the Prevention of Tuberculosis in Australia (1956-1957) and the education committee of the Crèche and Kindergarten Association of Queensland (1945-1957).
