Information

Built 1923-24. Foundation stone was laid by Public Works Minister William Forgan Smith and Education Minister John Huxham on 22 September 1923. It comprised a two-storey brick building with basement. It had separate (east) boys and (west) girls wings and entrances. The cost was £34,600. High School was opened on 27 January 1925. It incorporated the 1864 South Brisbane Primary School in Merivale St, into its campus. The left-side of this 1924 building was extended by 11 bays in 1932.
