Brittain Bricks was founded in 1887 by William Brittain but first at at Petrie’s Albion brickyard. Around 1891 Brittain started manufacturing hand-pressed bricks at Dinmore. It was not until 1899 that the Brickworks were established at Darra. In 1915 the brickworks was incorporated as a proprietary company, though Brittain Bricks did not become a public company until 1968. When Boral took it over in 1969.
