Information

Brookfield Cemetery Reserve was gazetted in 1872. The Cemetery contains graves of two infant children of the Logan family, dated 1876 and 1878, as well as representatives of many of the early European settler families. The Roman Catholic section is significantly the smallest. The Cemetery was closed in 1988 but re-opened in 1996 at the insistence of a descendant of one of the earliest settlers, and a memorial wall was erected for ashes. The original ten acres (four hectares) has been reduced to four acres (1.6 hectares). The Cemetery is managed by Toowong Cemetery.
