Information

A community hall erected on James Henry’s privately-owned farmland was used variously over many decades for Protestant church services, electioneering, voting and community dances. It was an example of how private citizens supported community activities before the wide-scale advent of community organizations and clubs. It is also a reminder of the more pronounced Protestant-Catholic divide in the 19th-century population of Queensland.
