Information

The first Coorparoo Methodist church was built on this site in 1886. After its 60th Anniversary in 1946, it was clear that the old, small church could no longer accommodate the post-war rise in the local congregation. A larger, architect-designed, brick church was built by G. Hueston and opened in 1952, while the 1886 church was pulled apart. The 1914 Hall was retained,as it held a 1919 dedicated WWI Memorial. The 1952 timber church manse was replaced by the brick manse in 1972. After the amalgamation of the Methodists, Presbyterians and Congregationalists in 1977, it became a Uniting Church.
