Information

The first services were held in the Cavendish Rd Shire Hall. Through the efforts of the neighbouring Thompson Estate church congregation, £200 was raised to start a building fund. In July 1928, the (£1500) Hall was opened, as funds were insufficient for the required church. Postwar, an increasing congregation saw a foundation stone for a church laid in May 1951. This Church was designed by architect and WWII veteran Thomas Cross. It opened as the War Memorial Church on 11 November 1951. It remained Presbyterian, after part of the Presbyterian church joined the Uniting Church in 1977.
