Information

The Ford Motor Company was established on this site in 1926 as a local motor vehicle assembly plant. Car bodies and engines were imported from Britain and Canada. During the Pacific War (1942-1945) the factory was a major manufacturer and distributor of Australian Landing Craft Vehicles with Australian army personnel.
