Information

The Hamilton Wharves came into being in 1923 after the construction of the Hamilton Retaining Wall from 1902. The reclamation of the river bank continued into the 1920s with the construction of the Hamilton Cold Stores (1925) and the Butter Board Factory adjoining wharves.
