Information

Albert John Hockings owned the ‘Rosaville’ nursery which fronted onto the Brisbane River. He propagated and sold a massive range of local plants and seeds, and his business success enabled a political career that saw him become the mayor of Brisbane during the 1860s and a member of the Legislative Assembly in the 1870s.
