Samuel Kaye, was a teacher music and importer of pianos, organs and harmoniums. Samuel Kaye’s house fronted Glenny Street on its southern boundary and Brisbane Street on the west. His house was on a large allotment on the river bank, subdivided and built on in 1877. A small park in Brisbane Street, Toowong is known as Kayes Rocks. In 1933 the Council began beautification of the riverbank and terracing of the site.
