Hoyts Entertainment Centre—Regent Theatre (remnants) was built in 1928, Architect: B. Hollingshead. This was Brisbane’s premiere picture palace. A grand movie theatre,to remain commercially viable, it was converted to a multiplex with a basement McDonalds, in the 1980s. Circa 2016, it was largely guttered, as part of a highrise redevelopment, with only the Queen Street facade and a few interior decorations retained.
