Lahey’s Sawmill opened in 1911 on 19 acres, increasing to 26 acres, alongside the railway line and Oxley Creek on the border of Corinda and Sherwood. David Lahey registered his business, Brisbane Timbers Limited. His sons were working at the mill, and timber was felled around the Oxley Creek. In 1956, the Corinda mill was sold to Carricks Ltd.
