The Federation Gothic-style church was completed one year after the Commonwealth of Australia’s establishment. As the Balmoral District expanded, from the 1890s, its growing Methodist community required a church that was closer than at Bulimba. Reflecting the Balmoral District’s propsperity, this church was built of brick, beside the main artery of Thynne Road. Methodist builder Mr. Crowther designed and constructed this church. A WWI Memorial transept was added in 1920. A Sunday School Hall was added to the site in 1933. After the Methodist, Presbyterian and Congregationalist amalgamation in 1977, It became an Uniting Church.
