Information

Opened 1874. Established as a one-teacher provisional school funded by the district’s families, it was granted state school status by the colonial government in 1894. In 1929, the state decided to build a new school to serve the gowing community, including thepost-WWI Soldier Settlement farms. All of the 1800s buildings were removed. A Head Teacher’s office, with adjoining classrooms were built in time for the 1930 school year. The playground was improved by the students planting shade trees on the annual Arbor Day celbrartion.
