Information

Built 1924. Previously the site of Queensland Premier W. Kidson’s home ‘Mt. Pleasant’ when bought by Brisbane’s Catholic Archbishop James Duhig (‘The Builder’) in 1918. Opened in 1925 and built atop Tingal Hill, Nazareth House orphanage was run by the Poor Sisters of Nazareth (founded 1854 in London). The nuns now oversee the site as an aged care facility.
