Built mid-1860s, when One Mile Swamp later renamed Woolloongabba) was starting to become urbanised. Andrew Pollock had a two-storey shop/house built, with his butcher’s shop on the grond floor and his residence atop it. Originaly, a common design in Brisbane, shop/houses declined in popularity by the turn of the century so only a few examples remain, spread across the suburbs. This is the earliest, extant commercial building in Wooloongabba.
