Information

The Queensland Acclimatisation Society was socially and politically a very influential organisation, significant for Brisbane’s environmental history with the introduction of foreign flora and fauna. The Society was granted Bowen Park and developed it between 1962 and 1965. The Park was purchased by the Council in 1914, and the Society moved to Lawton. It ceased operations in 1956.
