Information

St Colomb’s Church & War Memorial Cross (Clayfield Anglican) was built in 1899 (church), 1921 (memorial) Architect: J.H. Buckeridge. This Anglican Church was first sited in Collins Street, Clayfirld. Moved to Victoria Street in 1920. A Cross of Remembrance War Memorial was placed, facing Sandgate Road, in 1921. In 1964, brick vesteries, a chapel and a columbarium were added at the rear. The Memorial Gardens, planted in front of the war memorial, were destroyed in c2001, when this part of the site was sold to become a Sandgate Road liqour store and carpark.
