Information

St John’s Church (Northgate Catholic) was built in 1962, Architect: Farnk Cullen. Unusually, this Catholic Church was built 11 years after the adjoining St John’s Convent School opened. Churchs tended to precede the attached convent schools. This architect-designed brick church became a WWII memorial church, as it contains a Honour Roll of the Royal Australian Navy personnel, who enlisted in Brisbane and died during 1939-45. The scholl closed in the early 1990s but this church continues to serve local Catholics.
