Built 1923. This Church replaced the timber St Mathews, destroyed by fire in 1921. Afterwards, it was decided to build a new, brick church on Oxley Rd, across from the School. Fund raising, including an appearance by Dame Nellie Melbe, provided £2500. The foundation stone was laid on 4 March 1923 by Brisbane’s Anglican Archbishop Gerald Sharp. The undamaged church hall was moved from Sherwood Rd to Oxley Rd, after the Church opened on 6 August 1923. It was extended in 1960.
