Information

Sunnybank State Special School was originally known as the R.J. Andrews Special School when it was officially opened by Senator Neville Bonner on 20 July 1978. This centre for disabled youngsters was originally built by the Queensland Sub-Normal Children’s’ Welfare Association. The school was managed by the Endeavour Foundation until 1986 when the Queensland Department of Education took responsibility for the school’s administration. At the request of the school’s Parents and Citizens Association the school was officially renamed on 14 April 1997.
