Built c1895. Sydney merchant Joseph Thompson bought this site and the surrounding land, for investment purposes, in 1865. Thompson maintained a Brisbane branch-office in Queen Street and had neignbouring Silverwells built first. This house was constucted in the mid-1890s for lease. Descendant William Thompson sold-off the family’s Kangaroo Point holdings in 1920 and dentist Dr. Robert Wright bought this house on 7 August. He added front gates featuring a sunburst emblem and the house was named Sunnyside. Wright’s son was also a dentist so it was also known as Dr. Wright’s House. The son ran the Chilean consulate from Sunnyside,
