Information

Was surveyed around 1863 by early Moreton Bay surveyor James Warner. It was situated where the Toowong village tower is today and included what became Toowong railway station in 1875. The name Nona disappeared to be replaced by Toowong, the Aboriginal Tu-wong, the name of the black goat-sucker bird or koel (Eudynamys cyanocephala)
