Information

The Trocadero Dansant was opened in May 1923. It was a popular dance centre with a quality spring floor. The dance hall was organised with 52 alcoves for resting and a spectator’s gallery. The dances in this era were the foxtrot, waltzes, and polkas. During the time of the Pacific War (1942-1945) American servicemen introduced the jitterbug. The dance hall closed soon after the war.
