Information

William Cairncross Building was built in c1865, Architect: J. Cowlishaw. It is the City’s oldest retail building. One of first masonary buildings constructed, after fires in 1863-64 destroyed the timber shops in this section of the City. It was leased to a variety of business, including The Globe restaurant (1888-1921).
