Information

Windsor Congregational Church was built in 1916. became an Uniting Church, now community facility. The historic Windsor Congregational Church that was moved to this site from Rev. George Wight’s preaching station at Eildon Hill in 1879–80. Rev. Wight was one of Windsor’s first settlers at Eildon Hill in 1862, holding the districts first church service in his slab hut, Chapel of Ease. In 1866 he built a new chapel but with other churches opening in the area his congregation fell away and he moved the chapel to this more populous area. The Church was extended in 1887. It burned to the ground in the 1900s and was rebuilt. It no longer exists due to re-developement.
