Information

Site of the main, hilltop ring of a bora (ceremonial) ground associated with Woolloongabba Aboriginal camp. This was still being used in the 1850s, and was replaced by an earlier version of the current church in 1870. Unusually, in this case it appears that the higher hilltop ring was for joint (communal, male and female) use, whereas the lower ring (Stanley Street) was for initiations.
