Information

Built 1926. Queensland Ambulance Transport Brigade (Q.A.T.B.) began on 12 September 1892 in Brisbane City. Q.A.T.B. eventually grew to 96 ambulance brigades across Queensland. The Wynumm Q.A.T.B. station was built in 1926, at the cost of £3000 that was partly raised within the district. It was centrally located on the corner of Tingal Road and Cedar Street, with the ambulance station having distinctive red brick walls, decorated with rendered bands. Wynnum Q.A.T.B.station was staffed by local community members. On 1 July 1991, all Q.A.T.B. brigades were amalgamated into the Queensland Ambulance Service (Q.A.S.) and this was renamed the Wynnum Ambulance Centre.
