Information

Opened 1925. In 1921, a Wynnum Town Hall meeting resolved to establish a golf course. Banker Wilson Kerr laid out a nine-hole course on an unoccupied lot near Wynnum North Railway Station. The Wynnum Golf Club then was formed, at a meeting, on 19 July 1922. The Wynnum Town Council fully supported the project, as it would add to attractions drawing custom to the Wynnum-Manly seaside. This Course was opened by Queensland Governor Sir Mathew Nathan on 25 January 1925. A two-storey, timber club house and a rear, greenskeeper shed were later added to the grounds. It has expanded to 18 holes, spread over 31 hectares. Wynnum has Brisbane’s third oldest golf club.
