Information

Yeronga Congregational Church was built in 1915. Both buildings were completed during WWI, in the same year that the trams reached Yeronga. Both were built to serve a growing congregation drawn from the postwar housing estates. Alterations were made to meet the multiple uses required, particularly of the Hall. The decline in church attendance saw this Congregational precinct sold in 1964, to become wider, community-hire site (now a child care centre). Thus the buildings are unique in that they were unaffected by the 1977 amalgamation of the Congregational, Presbyterian ans Methodist churches to form the Uniting Church.
