The Bakery School and School of Food was originally a department of the Central Technical College. A new building was opened in 1967 at the Queen Alexandra Home site for the instruction of bread-making, cake & pastry cooking, and cake decoration. In 1977 the institution became the College of Catering and Hospitality Services, and in 1984 was renamed as the College of Tourism and Hospitality.
