Information

This cinema opened in 1924 with seating for 300 people. Like many similar halls of the time, this building also served as a community hub. During World War II, the local Air Raid Precautions committee held meetings and fundaraising concerts in the hall. It was renamed as the Astra circa 1941, and was destroyed by fire in 1977.
