Information
The Avalon Theatre was originally built by a church community. It was purchased and extended by the active and influential St Lucia Progress Association, and used for local fete and show, debating societies, political rallies. It was leased to picture theatre operators and then sold by SLPA to fund Ironside School pool. Eventually the theatre was sold to the University of Queensland as a performance and film unit hub.
