Information
Built 1897. In 1896, 11 City businessmen lobbied the colonial governor for a golf course. Brisbane Golf Club opened its Chelmer range on 12 December 1896 and this Club House was completed in the following year. Women were admitted as ‘associate members’ in 1898. In 1902, the Club bought 100 acres to relocate to Yerongpilly. This first Club House was sold as a private residence located at the corner of Hurlton St.
