First Church of Christ Scientist was built in 1940, Architects: Lucas & Cummings. Christian Science is a Christian denomination founded by Mary Baker Eddy in 1879, more than three decades before the birth of L. Ron Hubbard, who founded the Church of Scientology, which unlike Christian Science is not Bible based, in 1954.
