Information
Most significant Aboriginal camp for the Holland Park/ Mt Gravatt area, used until at least 1907. This camp was important for basketry and cloak-making. King Lumpy (Billy), Queen Mary and King Jacky frequented here, along with many others. It became the blanket-distribution point for this region during Queens Birthday Celebration, and was also where Aboriginals conducted corroboree performances for money in the 1890s. On such occasions, several hundred Aboriginals attended, coming from many surrounding areas. The small creek (Logan Road Creek) is believed to have had spiritual significance.
