Information
The Bretheren Church began in Schwarzenau, Germany in 1708. Migration to the U.S.A., saw the Church gain its largest following and it later spread to Britain. The Bretheren labelled their places of worship as meeting rooms. This church, the third Bretheren site on the southside, was constructed, during WWII, as a result of the influx of U.S. serviceman and women into Brisbane. Bretheren Church members often served in the U.S. military in non-combat roles. This small building is a fine example of the modest style of church favoured by the Bretheren.
