Information
Musgrave Park is a well-known local Aboriginal community site, an early Kurilpa camping ground. The South Brisbane Recreation Reserve was created in 1856 by the colonial government, but was not gazetted in honour of the Queensland Governor until 1884. It was developed into parkland with a bandstand in place after 1901. It has been conflictual site between the original owners and the local government until an agreement was reached in 1998 for land to provide to the Aboriginal community for cultural purposes.
