Information
The Queensland National Agricultural Association was a significant movement in the promotion of colonial trade, and was marked by the first Queensland Intercolonial Exhibition, with the grounds and building opening on 22 August 1876. During the twentieth century it transmuted into a ‘state fair’ (as in the United States mid-West), ten days in August, during school holidays, more as mass entertainment with the addition of ‘country’ visitors on trade and agricultural business.
