Information
Rowe’s Café and Dining Rooms opened in Edward Street in 1903, from a business that had being operating by Mrs Minna Rowe in Albert and Queen Streets. The large upmarket establishment became a Brisbane cultural icon in the twentieth century. Its original dining room could seat 380 guests, but furnished in expensive materials such as cedar and silky oak. Expensive crockery was used and modern electrical equipment was installed ahead of the competition.
