The Woolongabba Branch railway line (incorrectly spelled by Queensland Railways with only one ‘l’) was a branch line that opened on 2 June 1884 to serve the riverside wharves and industries along the Brisbane River at Woolloongabba and South Brisbane. This line ran to Corinda Station (which was then known as ‘South Brisbane Junction’). The Woolloongabba station and depot were located on a reserve between Stanley Street and Vulture Street, adjacent to the cricket ground. The branch line closed in January 1960, and the Woollongabba depot closed in September 1967.
