Information

The Ipswich Road Tram Depot opened in 1927. By the time the construction had been completed the ownership of the tramway system had passed ownership from the Brisbane Tramway Trust to the Brisbane City Council. A bus depot was added in 1949. The 1962 Paddington fire made the Ipswich Road site the main depot point for Brisbane trams. The depot closed, along with the whole of the Brisbane tram service in April 1969.
