Griffith University: Founded in 1971, Griffith is significant for its faculties of interdisciplinary schools and Australia’s first degrees in environmental science. This “Griffith model” sought to break the “vicious cycle” of narrow schooling, though it has since faced pressure from instrumental policies favouring “job-ready” programs.
